The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (CHSL) Examination every year to recruit eligible candidates for Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts in various Ministries, Departments and Offices of the Government of India. Before applying, candidates must ensure that they meet all the eligibility conditions specified in the official notification.
The SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria mainly cover four important aspects: Age Limit, Educational Qualification, Nationality and Category-wise Age Relaxation. Every fact on this page is based on the official SSC CHSL Notice of Examination (F. No. HQ-C1102/9/2025-C-1, dated 23-06-2025); where the notification does not mention something, no assumption has been made.
Candidates who do not satisfy any of these conditions may have their candidature cancelled during Document Verification, even if they qualify in Tier-I and Tier-II. Checking your eligibility carefully before submitting the application is therefore one of the most important steps in the recruitment process.
