Official Rule Interpretations & Real-Life Examples

Example 1: Age Eligibility Calculation

Candidate DOB: 15 June 2005. As on 01 July 2026, the candidate\'s age is 21 years and 16 days. Since candidate has completed 21 years, they are ELIGIBLE.

Candidate DOB: 10 August 2005. As on 01 July 2026, candidate is 20 years 10 months old. Since minimum 21 years is not completed on cut-off date, candidate is INELIGIBLE.

Example 2: Negative Marking Penalty

A candidate attempts 110 questions in PGT Chemistry: 90 are correct, 20 are wrong, and 10 are unattempted.

Gross Marks: 90 × 3 = 270 marks.
Penalty Deducted: 20 × 1 = 20 marks.
Net Written Score: 270 − 20 = 250 marks (out of 360).

Example 3: Subject Qualification for PGT Hindi

A candidate possesses M.A. in Hindi and NCTE B.Ed., but did not study Sanskrit at the Graduation (B.A.) level.

Under Section 7 (Sr 1), B.A. with Sanskrit is a mandatory qualification for PGT Hindi. Without Sanskrit in B.A., the candidate will be disqualified at document verification.

Example 4: Boys vs Girls Cadre Choice

A female candidate holds M.Sc. and B.Ed. in Mathematics. She can choose either the Boys school cadre (105 posts) or the Girls school cadre (7 posts). However, she must choose only one during application (Section 12.7).
