Trained Apprentice of SBI — Relaxation Conditions

Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable to a trained Apprentice of SBI, whose engagement start date is on or after 01.01.2022 and who has completed the specified branch experience of one year successfully in SBI on or before the last date of registration, i.e. 27.08.2026, provided his/her conduct and performance is found satisfactory during the entire training period. Successful completion of Apprenticeship training refers to passing of the skill evaluation test (Trade Test) and obtaining a joint National Apprenticeship Certificate jointly issued by SBI-NSDC/BFSI-SSC.

Educational Qualification

As per the Official SBI Notification (Essential Academic Qualification, as on 31.12.2026)

Candidates applying for SBI Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) Backlog Recruitment 2026 must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government, as on 31.12.2026.

Candidates having an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2026.

Those who are in the final year/semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally, subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2026.

Date of passing: The date of passing the eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the mark sheet/certificate or provisional certificate issued by the University/Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.

Matriculate Ex-Servicemen: Matriculate Ex-servicemen who have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or the corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union, are also eligible for the post. Such certificates should be dated on or before 31.12.2026.

  • Serving/Ex Clerical Cadre Employees Not Eligible: Candidates who are currently working in SBI in the Clerical cadre are not eligible to apply under this project. Candidates who were earlier employed in State Bank of India and resigned from the Bank while in clerical cadre are also not eligible to apply for the post.
  • Character & Antecedents: Candidates against whom there is/are adverse report regarding character & antecedents, moral turpitude etc. are not eligible to apply for the post.
  • One State/UT Only: Candidates can apply for vacancies of one State/UT only and can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.
  • Local Language Proficiency: Candidates applying for a particular State/UT should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that State/UT. The Local Language Proficiency Test is conducted after qualifying the online Main Examination but before joining the Bank. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered appointment. Candidates who produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo this test.
  • No Inter Circle/Inter State Transfer: There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer/Inter State Transfer for Junior Associates recruited under this project. Intra-state transfer is permitted only between Delhi Circle & Lucknow Circle in Uttar Pradesh, and between Mumbai Metro Circle & Maharashtra Circle in Maharashtra.
  • PwBD and Ex-Servicemen — Parent Category: PwBD and Ex-servicemen/ Disabled ex-servicemen can apply under their respective parent category (SC/ST/OBC, as applicable). The notification clarifies that there is no horizontal reservation, and concessions applicable to PwBD will only be available to candidates.

OBC Category Conditions

Vacancies reserved for the OBC category are available only to OBC candidates belonging to the "Non-Creamy Layer". Candidates belonging to the OBC category but coming under the "Creamy Layer" are not eligible to apply. OBC category candidates should submit the OBC certificate on the format prescribed by the Government of India, having the "Non-Creamy Layer" clause issued on or after 01.04.2026 up to the date of taking up appointment, if selected.

Caste certificates issued by the Competent Authority, on the format prescribed by the Government of India, will have to be submitted by SC/ST candidates during document verification.
