Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has invited online applications for the recruitment of 250 Local Bank Officers (LBO) in JMGS-I under Advt. No. HRDD/RECT/02/2026-27, dated 07.08.2026. Online registration is open from 08.08.2026 to 24.08.2026. Before applying, candidates should carefully check the age, educational qualification, category and nationality conditions laid down in the official notification — the same conditions used by the Eligibility Checker and Age Calculator above.
The cut-off date for reckoning age and educational qualification is the 1st day of the month in which online registration commences, i.e. 01.08.2026. As per the notification, a candidate must have been born not later than 01.08.2006 and not earlier than 02.08.1996 (both days inclusive) — that is, minimum age 20 years and maximum age 30 years as on the cut-off date, before any relaxation.
| Category | Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) | 5 years |
| Other Backward Classes — Non-Creamy Layer (OBC) | 3 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) | 10 years |
| Persons affected by 1984 riots | 5 years |
| Ex-servicemen / Commissioned Officers (≥5 years military service) | 5 years |
The maximum age limit applies to General category and EWS category candidates. Where a candidate is eligible for relaxation under more than one category, cumulative relaxation with any one remaining category is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates, subject to a maximum upper age limit of 50 years.
Candidates must hold a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate proving graduate status on the day of registering online, and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering. No minimum percentage is specified in the notification.
Candidates belonging to categories (ii) to (v) above must hold a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India before the date of the notification.
Vacancies are announced state-wise — Tamil Nadu (Tamil), Karnataka (Kannada), Maharashtra (Marathi) and Gujarat (Gujarati). A candidate may apply for only ONE state, and must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking that state's local language. Candidates who have not studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard will need to clear a Local Language Proficiency Test before the Personal Interview.
