Mera dost Shivam army ki tayari kar raha tha. Running, physical — sab clear kar liya tha. Usse pura confidence tha ki wo GD ya technical dono me nikal jayega.
Usne mahine bhar ki mehnat ki — subah 4 baje uthna, running, pushups, pull-ups, written exam ki preparation — sab kuch perfect tha.
Lekin jab medical hua… uska selection wahi ruk gaya.
Reason — eyesight. Mild color blindness thi jiske baare mein use kabhi pata hi nahi tha. Use pehle kabhi kisi ne nahi bataya ki army ki eye test itni strict hoti hai.
Us din usne bola — "agar mujhe pehle pata hota, to main tayari alag karta. Shayad koi aur post ke liye apply karta jisme vision requirements alag hoti hain."
Isi wajah se maine ye Army Eye Test Simulator banaya — taaki kisi ka selection sirf ek choti si medical issue ki wajah se na ruk jaye. Pehle jaano, phir apply karo.
Indian Army medical board mein eye examination ek critical part hota hai. Medical test generally 3 parts mein hoti hai: Distance Vision Test (Snellen chart se 6 meter par), Near Vision Test (Jaeger/N-type chart se 33cm par), aur Color Perception Test (Ishihara plates se). Army Medical Officer (AMO) in teeno tests ko carefully evaluate karta hai. Kisi bhi test mein failure — medical rejection ho sakta hai.
Color blindness (Color Vision Deficiency) ek condition hai jisme person certain colors clearly distinguish nahi kar pata — most commonly red aur green. Army mein yeh isliye disqualifying hai kyunki soldiers ko battlefield par colored signals, maps, wire identification, aur target recognition tasks karne hote hain jisme color differentiation critical hoti hai. Kisi bhi Army post ke liye Color Perception Grade I (severe deficiency) barring condition hai — koi exception nahi.
Eye test mein rejection ke top reasons hain: (1) Color Blindness — kisi bhi degree ka color vision deficiency Army GD ke liye disqualifying. (2) Refractive errors beyond limit — -3.5D ya +3.5D se zyada power wale glasses wale GD ke liye rejected. (3) Night blindness — low light mein poor vision. (4) Squint (Strabismus) — eyes jo straight align nahi hoti. (5) Amblyopia (lazy eye) — ek eye permanently weak. (6) Corneal scars — previous injury ya infection ke marks.
Refractive errors (myopia/hyperopia) naturally cure nahi hoti lekin lifestyle changes se progression roka ja sakta hai. Helpful habits: Screen time reduce karo (har 20 min mein 20-second break, 20 feet door dekho — "20-20-20 rule"). Adequate lighting mein padho. Green vegetables, carrots, amla, fish oil — vitamin A rich diet rakho. Outdoor time badhao — natural light myopia progression rokti hai. Medical options: Laser eye surgery (LASIK) kaafi log karte hain — Army LASIK ke baad limited time mein apply karne ki restriction hai (6–12 months), official notification verify karein.
Haan — kuch posts ke liye. Army GD ke liye spectacles allowed nahi hain. Lekin Technical, Clerk, SKT, Officer (SSC, CDS), aur various Corps (AMC, ASC, Ordnance, Education) ke liye glasses with limited power (generally ±3.5 Dioptre tak) allowed hain. NDA ke liye myopia -3.5D tak allowed hai. Important: spectacles ka power, squint, amblyopia, aur color vision sab separately check hota hai. Agar glasses power ±3.5D ke andar hai aur color vision normal hai — bahut saare posts ke liye eligible ho sakte hain.
Don't let eyesight be the reason your Army dream gets stopped. Take the simulator test, know your status, then prepare accordingly.
